2012 GEAR TEST After a night of Beermingos, indoor tree climbing and rafter jumping, the testing team was a bit subdued on the bus ride up to Powder Mountain on day three. By the time the skis were on the racks (almost) everyone was ready to push hard on a day where the snow softened at each lap. Most of the wider skis have been tested and the crew moved onto the all-mountain boards. ![]() Ben Ritter finds the goods on Gnarnia. [Photo] Simon Peterson ![]() What fuels testers? Testers skied in T-shirts and sunglasses as the sun pulsed down on Powder Mountain. If the high pressure keeps up, we’ll be skiing corn by Sunday—perfect conditions for testing the lightest and narrowest products. ![]() Future tester Maria Riek carving for the camera. And if tonight’s “Progressive Party” doesn’t get in the way of things, we’ll have tested over 300 by the end of the test week. ![]() The cafeteria jalapeņos earned an overall score of eight out of 10.
