Early Turns: October Nor'easter in New England

On the weekend of October 15, the first winter nor'easter slammed the higher summits of New England. Well slammed is a relative term, but it doesn't take much for good early-season skiing in the northeast, especially when the official start of winter isn't for another two months. By most accounts, 16 to 20 inches of New England Chowda' fell at elevations above 1,500 feet, across Vermont's Green Mountains and New York's Adirondacks.
