Jeffersonville, Vermont - Independent Publisher, Height of Land Publications, announced today the addition of Josh Madsen as Editor of Telemark Skier Magazine. Madsen has spent the better part of the last decade immersed in Telemark skiing. From participating in various youth programs, to giving clinics, to public speaking, and in every media medium possible, he's truly done it all. A former sponsored Telemark athlete, filmmaker, and editor of his own Telemark webzine, Freeheellife.com, Madsen brings to the table a fresh outlook on the new Freeheel culture. His adventures have landed him spots in various films, including Warren Miller's "Higher Ground" and many other Telemark movies. "My vision of Telemark Skier is to build upon the strong foundation and history of the magazine and our sport, while shedding light on the new accomplishments and explorations on Freeheel gear," Madsen says. "After 16 years Telemarking, I'm stoked to have the opportunity to highlight the turn that has brought me so many great friends, adventures, and experiences." The publishers of Telemark Skier are stoked, too. ![]() "Josh has that unique blend of athleticism and intellect, cred and attitude a niche title like Telemark Skier needs," says Height of Land Editorial Director, and former Backcountry Magazine editor Adam Howard. "He's committed to growing the Freeheel fold, through all mediums from web, to print and in person. He's the new face of the sport." In addition to his editing duties Madsen will take his show on the road. "Telemark Skier has always been a good magazine," Howard adds. Founded in 2002 by Couloir Magazine Publisher and Tele-zealot Craig Dostie, Telemark Skier was acquired by HOL in 2007 the result of merging Couloir and Backcountry. "What Josh brings to the table is stage presence. He'll not only be responsible for putting the magazine together, but taking the title on the road to every nook and cranny where people drop a knee." The first issue of Telemark Skier Magazine ships in early October. Check it out. SubscribeSubscribe to Telemarkskier Magazine ContactsEditor: Josh Madsen Publisher: Jon Howard |
