Testers were on time this morning (surprisingly) after a small gathering last night that featured the reintroduction of the beermingo. It made for a quiet bus ride to Powder Mountain, which was enough proof that people were feeling the festivities from the night before. Tester Madison Gilmore says, "Between the chili and the 'mingo, my stomach is mad." But testers rallied—Mad Dog included—and unloaded skis and headed back into the storm that piled another five inches before noon.

Tester Profile: After graduating from the University of Vermont, Hedda Peterson left the Green Mountains for longer runs in Crested Butte. She wound up here at Powder Mountain stuck with a bunch of rowdy tester much to her dismay. Even so, judging by the wide grin on her face, she is enjoying her time skiing between widely-spaced trees and blankets of snow. Below is a little insight on the infamous Ms. Peterson. (

Next to the doorway in the Hidden Lake bunker, there's a pair of the original K2 Xplorer. At 70-something underfoot the boards lean against the door of our gear storage shed unmounted. "I remember my first turns on this ski," says Brad "Bubba" Holden of his first powder skis. "I made six turns and when I got to the bottom everyone was freaking out." But today, we brought out next year's powder skis. And Bubba's favorite pair of the day? The G3 Empire 115 at 115cm underfoot.

Tester Profile: Mark Rosenberg is a freshman tester they year, but that has not stopped him from getting his dance on during the annual "Progressive Party" or from making wide calculated turns on the slopes of Powder Mountain. Rosenberg has been photographed more times than Ron Jeremy this year. He's proven to be solid tester and dance queen.(
