EXPERIENCE THE ULTIMATE CHAMPAGNE POWDER ON THE ROOF OF THE WORLD

Gulmarg Heliski is proud to announce its first season of operation will commence 10th January, 2010

London, UK - Fuelled by every freeriders dream of endless powder and blue skies, the ultimate big mountain Himalayan heli-experience is now taking bookings.

Between the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, rising majestically above the Indian Punjab Plain, lies the Pir Panjal mountain wilderness reserve. At 75 km long, it contains 66 peaks over 3,000m and 22 peaks above 4,000m. Within this western-most range of the mighty Himalaya is the mountain village of Gulmarg, situated at 2,700m.

Visitors to Gulmarg Ski Village will find it to be a step above and beyond the usual mountain experience. Already home to the highest ski lift at 4,000m, Gulmarg Heliski will operate from here with access to 22 peaks over 4,000m giving clients the ultimate choice of untracked powder valleys and bowls.

EXPERIENCE THE ULTIMATE CHAMPAGNE POWDER ON THE ROOF OF THE WORLDAll our guides are internationally qualified heliski and mountain guides. Each holding more than 13 years experience and training in avi-2 snow safety and pre hospital accident medicine. Gulmarg Heliski operates a 2009 model AS350 Squirrel B3 helicopter piloted by captains with extensive Himalayan mountain flying experience. Groups are limited to a maximum of 20 clients per day with our 5 guides, giving a ratio of 1 guide to 4 clients.

Our Pir Panjal Powder Week heliskiing package has been carefully designed to ensure client safety and satisfaction. All your mind has to focus on is your enjoyment of the incredible terrain, Himalayan views and champagne powder. Seven nights quality hotel accommodation with all meals, 6 days guided heliskiing, K2 Pontoon powder skis and airport transfers are all included in the price.

Company owner Martin Jones comments, "The first time I came here and skied with Billa as my guide, I just couldn't believe it. I could only manage six to eight powder runs each day, averaging 1,000 to 2,000 vertical meters per decent. That's up to 16,000 vertical meters per day and as much as 112,000 meters per week - if your legs can keep going! I just can't wait to see our heliski clients smiling as we unveil the mind-blowing terrain and powder within the Pir Panjal this winter."
