Noboard Nation - No bindings, no problem

Five years after noboarding founder Greg Todds was killed by an avalanche, riding without bindings is hitting new heights. A noboarding film, “Yes to the No,” premiered as the “Fan Favorite” at the 2006 Banff Mountain Film Festival. And people are noboarding progressively steeper lines, throwing inimitable tricks, and just pounding powder fields as snowboarding turns back to its surf-inspired roots.

Solar electric panels installed to power the world's first known solar-powered plug-in hybrid SUV

With record snowfalls in Crested Butte, it has not been easy, but yesterday the solar electric panels donated by Evergreen/AEE Solar and a SMA Inverter donated by Sunsense were installed by Nunutak Alternative Energy Solutions in a ground breaking effort to power the first known PHEV SUV with solar electric power.

Black Diamond's Powder Keg #6 lives up to its name - 15" of fresh snow forces course changes

Alta, Utah — North America’s largest randonnée rally, the Powder Keg, saw 110 backcountry skiers skinning and skiing the slopes of Alta last Saturday, March 15th. Brandon French won the men’s race division with a time of 1:52:20 to climb and ski over 5200 vertical feet.

VertFest 2008 Sees Modest Growth - 2 skiers vie for prizes and support NW Avy Center

Crystal Mountain, WA – The second annual VertFest was a resounding success with 62 racers participating in a randonnée rally while hundreds of skiers checked out backcountry equipment from local retailers like Marmot Mountain in Bellevue, and manufacturers like Dynafit, Atomic, K2, Black Diamond, Fritschi, G3, Karhu, Scarpa, Rottefella, Garmont, Crispi, Osprey, MSR, and 7TM. The main sponsor and organizer of the event was Outdoor Research, along with host, Crystal Mountain Resort.
